Michaella Shand

General Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar

Michaella provides diagnostic and assessment services to children (3+), adolescents, and adults. Michaella is highly skilled in the assessment and diagnosis of Autism (ASD), ADHD, Intellectual Developmental Disorder, IQ/Cognitive Testing, and Adaptive Functioning. She is experienced in administering the WISC-V, WAIS, MIGDAS, Conners, DIVA-5, Vinelands, ASRS and many more psychometrics.

Following a background in counselling, Michaella completed her Bachelor of Social Science – Psychology (Honours) in 2022, and her Master of Clinical Psychology in 2024. Since 2019, she has worked in a range of sectors including non-for-profit youth mental health recovery and LGBTQ+ support, private practice, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and educational and developmental psychology. Here, Michaella developed skills regarding both psychological interventions and assessment.

Michaella enjoys helping both children and adults reach their goals and understand their strengths and weaknesses. She balances a professional approach with compassion and lived experience. When she is not working, Michaella enjoys spending time with her two dogs and two cats, playing sports, and trying out new restaurants.

Michaella is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society and provides services under NDIS, Medicare, Private Health, and self-referrals. She offers in-person and telehealth options.
