Emma is a Senior Psychologist who has been working in both the public and private sectors of mental health since 2007. As a Clinical Psychologist, Emma is trained to provide evidence based assessment and treatment of depression, anxiety and other forms of mental illness. Emma has a warm, collaborative style and believes in helping people utilise their strengths to live meaningful, fulfilling lives and to cope with the challenges of living with mental illness.
Although Emma has worked with clients across the lifespan, she is particularly experienced in working with children, adolescents and their families. She has gained this experience working for the Queensland Child and Youth Mental Health Service for over 12 years. When working with younger clients Emma has a family focused approach, believing that parents are an integral part of a young person’s recovery team.
Emma primarily utilises cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness techniques and parent management training. She is able to provide psychological services for issues such as:
- Anxiety including worry, panic attacks, social anxiety and phobias
- Trauma and PTSD
- Low self-esteem
- Challenging child behaviour such as tantrums, biting, disobedience.
- Parenting issues including separation, co-parenting and blended families. Emma is also an accredited provider of standard Triple P: Positive Parenting Program.
- Sleep problems including insomnia.
Emma can provide services under Medicare and Workcover in addition to seeing private paying and private health funded clients
