Bridget is a General Psychologist with experience in a variety of issues related to mental health, trauma, parenting issues, grief & loss and relationship difficulties. She provides therapy for children (7+yrs), adolescents and adults. Bridget provides therapy for anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns as a Medicare provider, and also provides treatment for NDIS participants with Autism who are verbal (level 1 and 2) and with Intellectual disability.
Bridget has had experience in both the private and public mental health sector, as well as an established former career in child welfare and parenting services. Her approach is empathetic, calm and client-centred. She believes in talking time to build a trusting collaborative relationship and is of the perspective that therapeutic change comes developing insight into how past and present experiences contribute to problematic behaviours and relationship patterns. She draws on a range of therapeutic approaches included Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, schema therapy, mindful self compassion and positive psychology. She is also a trained facilitator of the parenting program Tuning into Kid.
